Late August – September was a bit of a trial for both of us. The old Lab, Jake, had a stroke and seizure resulting in us making the decision to have him put down. Sure not easy. Then 3 weeks later we found a little bundle of dynamite named Barley. A yellow Lab. pup. What an added bundle of energy to our family this is. Even my Heeler , Bear loves Barley. It took a few days but is sure OK now. September ended in good favor for us.

Summer 2010

Don’t know just where Spring ended and Summer began. Spring was wet and cooler than normal. Had lots of rain early to mid June. Stan took Ramuls Roseann to a stud.(Hope she likes him). A week later found him and a neighbor riding with the Morman Wagon Train for a few days. He enjoyed that a lot. I enjoyed the time they took from traveling to come here to see our place, also the wonderful evening meals and the visiting. Great people! Then …They headed on West….. It soon was County Fair time and then State Fair. Not long and time for Rosie to come home. Yes, She liked him. We went to Ft. Rob this year to visit only, Meet new people. Then on to Billings to an old fashioned Barn Dance with Bruce Hauser and Sawmill Creek playing. It was a benefit for Angel Horses in Billings….. Now it’s time for Tucson to come home for a while. We will keep you posted on this one.

Memorial weekend

This is not about picniks,parties, beaches, it is about the sacrafices and the ultimate price paid by the many thousands who have faought and died serving this nation. Winter is back, today the 6th we are having snow, cold winds for the past couple weeks, end of April was the start of our wind, a month behind, but we are having cold cold winds and it is supposed to be spring. NOT here, still getting more acres brushhogged to get rid of the weeds, that CRP group has not been worked in over 30 years, now it looks like a big green grassy meadow. Lots of time on the tractor, still have some more to finish up but with the winter snow coming in that will have to wait. A good friend and close 3 miles away killed a rattler last week, a bit early with this cold weather, last year we killed 30 on the road, but only only 1 close by on the road up to the place, had an older horse get snake bit last year, he came out ok, but grew a mustache on his lip. With all the commotion in the fields this year no snakes YET, our guinnies take care of around the buildings and fields close by, and now they have 150 more acres to roam, snakes hate them and they hate snakes, right now we have 46 eggs sitting in our incubator getting ready to hatch, which will take care of the 20 that the closest neighbors dog killed last year, she is moving,, hurray… I also have been working with the colt Tuscon, he is a dandy. Ramul would have been proud of him, I know I am. Well I will try and keep better track of this news and keep up with this a lot better, I hope. As I have said, write, post a note in the website and sign the guest book. I have no idea of who some of the people are that sign it, but I want to thank each and every one who has. March/ April news

Sorry to be so late with this news update, it has been a wild weather time here in Wyo. lots of moisture which we needed, not a lot of wind in either month, Evelyn is back in good health, feeling fine, got over her fall, which we still have no idea why? The horses are doing fine, came thro the winter fat and sassy, the colt is really starting to change colors, not that rust tint anymore, more black to dark brown and still full of himself. We have had a lot of people visit the ranch, and also the website, lot of new people who knew Ramul and his horses, nice comments from all parts of the country about Ramul and our site, Hope you visit often and write and say hello. Rosy is going to be 20 this June, she was Ramul’s personal horse in the latter years of his life, we feel blessed to have her here with us, she is still a ball of fire to ride, and still can work cattle like in her youger days. Tuscon is growing up to be a very handsome stud, he loves little people, and cleans out his pasture of all tumble weeds that blow in. What a ham, he really likes to show off. planting trees and bushes around the place, getting ready for spring, In April I made contact with the people who own the acres to the south of us, asked to clean up the pastures and get rid of the weeds, they all said to use the ground as if it were ours, so I have been busy with that project, 150 acres, but will have plenty of hay. Feb update

Got some bad news to share, Evelyn fell her at the house about a week ago, she got dizzy and passed out late at nite, took her to the emergency room, broken nose and 4 faciial bones broken, looked like she got kicked by a mule, all black and blue, and purple, mouth is hamburger, she is doing much better but still can’t eat solid foods, scary and a real awakening for me. But she is healing up, just passed out due to dehydration the drs said. Willl keep you posted, also Ramuls 100 birthday is this month. Jackie his granddaughter wrote a nice note in the guest book. Jan Feb News

January has been cold cold windy and not good to be out in or ride in, but we do need what little bit of snow has fallen, we have met some new friends plus trying to get the rain gods to give us some thing other than a flurry and wind, we have been riding but not nearly enough, all the horses are doing fine, getting fatter, but still in wonderful shape. I have had a couple very nice notes and comments from some of Ramuls granddaughters, and members of the family, that is very special to me to know they like the site and are keeping track of our lives here. Just this past week Rosy really put on a show,, head up and tail flowing and snorting and running back and forth in the pasture when I shot a coyote who was trying to get the guinieas we have, she would have put any show horse to shame with the prancing and dancing she did, I had the rifle not the camera, so sorry no pictures. But it would have made a wonderful video. Then on the first of Feb Evelyn took a very bad spill at the house and fell , she broke her nose, both small bones in the face and looks like she was hit by a Mac truck, after hours at the emergency room she is now home, Black, Blue, Purple, yellow and looks like she was kicked in the mouth, but she is tough, and getting better each day. She is very lucky she did not do any more damage. We will have to wait for the swelling to go down before they can go in and do any type of repair work… I also recieved a very special post on the guest book from Jackie Lee, Ramuls granddaughter, and her son, so go read what they wrote. More news to come, will let you know how Evelyn’s face turns out, but she is doing fine, just has to eat thro a straw and drink lots of water. It was not fun but we will get thro it. well another year has just about arrived, I am sorry for not keeping up with the past couple months, but I do want to take the time to wish each and every one of you folks a very Merry Christmas and maybe 2010 will be much better than this past one. We have had cold and wind and snow, and Ice, like many of you folks have also, but remember if we all want water to drink, and grow crops we need the moisture, our area has been in a drought for the past 10 yrs so last year and this year have been a blessing. In this next year I hope when you read the news, and look at the pictures you will take a moment to sign the guest book and let me know what you like or dislike about this site, It is brought to you to enjoy, so if you have any ideas to make it better, contact me please. we usaully go to Yellowstone this time of year, but this year we decided to go to Calif and visit some very good morgan horse friends, Bob and Barb Fink, in Quency Calif. We met over the 2wf site and decided to go see their horses, what a wonderful trip, we had a ball, and I even rode a postage stamp saddle for the first time in my entire life, It was different, but then riding Barbs horses made all the difference, they are something, Chandler, and the stud Cracker, and a mare called Pardi Doll,, what a horse, took a trail ride, then worked in the big arena, Check out Dreamcatcher Morgans,,, Barb Fink,, she is a doll, she is having some health issues but will be coming along fine after her visit to the drs again. We have had snow here, over 8 inches of wet heavy snow, the past few days have been on the loader cleaning up the roads, corrals and putting all that snow out in the pastures. Ft Rob ride was a very big charade as far as I am concerned, Oh there were a few people who came by the camp but all in all it was kind of clickish,, not at all like it used to be, but enough of that, Evelyn and I camped out at the upper campground and had it all to ourselves, cold one night in our new trailer,, need to finish the insulation, Going to put on a display in Heartville, Wyo, Day of the Cowboy, it will be fun, lots of people will view our horses, and old western items that we will be having on display. We also have a movie film crew going to film the day, it should be something, hope you all can join in, until later, Stan 777 morgans
